Ratings: Million Little Things Surges to Season Highs With Move to Thursdays
A Million Little Things christened its new Thursday time slot with 5.3 million total viewers and a 1.1 demo rating, surging 54 and 57 percent form its midseason finale to hit and match season highs.
AMLT also was up a tick from Station 19‘s fall average in the time slot (5.3 mil/1.0).
Bookending the freshman drama, Grey’s Anatomy (7 mil/1.9, TVLine reader grade “B+”) returned up a tenth — matching its best rating since March — while HTGAWM (2.8 mil/0.7, reader grade “B”) ticked down.
Elsewhere….
THE CW | Supernatural (1.44 mil/0.4) returned steady.
FOX | Gotham (2.4 mil/0.7) and The Orville (3 mil/0.7) were steady.
NBC | Titan Games (4.9 mil/1.3) slipped 19 percent in Week 3, while Brooklyn Nine-Nine dropped 25 percent from its NBC debut. The Good Place (2.6 mil/0.8) dipped, but SVU (4.2 mil/0.9) ticked up — besting time slot rival HTGAWM.
CBS | Big Bang (13.2 mil/2.3) and Mom (8.5 mil/1.3) each dipped a tenth, while Young Sheldon (11.4 mil/1.7) was down two tenths. Fam (6 mil/1.0) slipped two tenths in Week 2.

I am not sure there is anything to cheer about a million little things rating “success”. it means it would not survive on its own.
That was the best episode of AMLT yet – and that’s saying something!

Looks like John got up too early today and is a little cranky. The viewing #’s are awesome! I would watch AMLT any day it moved to!
All networks care about is improving time slots, improving a show’s (and thus the network’s overall) average. Doesn’t matter “how.”
I hope they keep it here and renew it.
I guess ABC and its viewers are desperate for anything rating increase for AMLT, even if it is minuscule !

Plus ABC knows that AMLT is a jewel of it’s 2018-19 season.
I personally am not sure what I will be doing, I already have had to save Supernatural, though I intended to watch it, but then I wanted to watch Brooklyn 99. So I ended up watching AMLT but that and Legacies were my favorite new shows of the fall, and, I don’t know if I am ready to make that call between the two just yet.
watch them all, I DVR everything and then watch after they go off, I cannot handle commercials. and I agree AMLT and Legacies are the best new shows.

I don’t watch AMLT, and didn’t know it was moving to Thursday, but that makes so much sense. What a smart move.
Good move ABC! Love AMLT, reminds me of Greg Berlanti’s Brothers and Sisters so much. Now, move Station 19 to follow AMLT and kill Murder once and for all!
AMLT is most likely the most depressing show on the small screen. Also, one of my favorite actors, Grace Park, is totally wasting her talents on it. It would be great if she’d get back with Daniel Dae Kim on the Good Doctor…
I gave AMLT a chance but after a few episodes, I realized I hated all of the characters except James Roday’s and the woman with cancer (I would watch a whole show centered around them). Everyone else was either too successful, well off, or lucky, and their problems were cheating on spouses or boohoo, I don’t have my dream job. All of that plus being superficially manipulative about serious topics like suicide and depression. I also agree that Grace Park is completely wasted on the show.
